Framed 6×6
My work explores altered consciousness through geometric precision and meditative rhythm, functioning as both a mirror and a portal, both an instrument for seeing, and a space through which consciousness is refracted. By merging light, motion, and perceptual effects to explore depth and dynamism, the geometry within Extradimensional incorporates symmetry and superimposition of forms. What emerges is a visual meditation and an exploration of freedom within precision. Throughout the sculpture’s creation, each layer is individually hand-cut. The iterative process of constructing congruent forms becomes a meditative act in itself, requiring sustained attention, repetition, and mindfulness. This focused process, coupled with the shifting qualities of the diffractive materials, transforms the act of making into its own psychedelic experience. The holographic surface further creates a subversion of traditional kinetic art: rather than the sculpture itself moving, its apparent movement is activated by the changing position of the observer. Light, color, geometry, and depth continually reorganize as the viewer moves through space. Just as open-mindedness and shifts in perspective are necessary to more fully comprehend the world around us, Extradimensional must be approached from multiple angles to experience its full perceptual gamut.
