As I have turned to nature for photographic inspiration, there is no better proof of life to me than the proof of life. The title comes from the subject's first tattoo, which reads 'Divine Peace Exists.' Located between her shoulder blades, the phrase is an excerpt from her grandmother's diary. Although the subject never had a chance to meet her grandmother, the love her grandmother had for her transcends time and continues to manifest itself. It is in this natural, vibrant setting that a space can be created for a moment of reflection, a practice meaningful to both the subject and her grandmother. Although the space they now occupy is not physical, nor is it linear, love moves through this moment just as energy moves through the cycles of nature.
